🙏PW365: THE HEBREW WORD FOR “WAIT” THAT ISN’T ABOUT WAITING (Video)- FRI, JUN 26-27, 2026 ⚔️

The video she will be sharing provides a transformative look at the Hebrew word qavah, typically translated as “wait” in the Bible, arguing that it describes an active spiritual process rather than passive inaction.

Key Insights:

• Active Binding: The root of qavah means “to twist together” or “to bind into a cord”. Biblical “waiting” is the physical, deliberate work of weaving the frayed, scattered strands of our lives into the strength of God.
• Biblical Patterns:
  • Genesis 1:9 (4:27-6:55): The root first describes gathering chaotic waters into order, suggesting that waiting is the process of bringing the chaos of our lives into God’s presence.
  • Isaiah 40:31 (6:55-11:10): Renewing strength is an exchange—trading our exhausted capacity for God’s endurance through the bond of the cord.
  • The Psalms (11:10-14:27): The “watchman” metaphor illustrates a state of alert, expectant faith. We wait because the dawn—the faithfulness of God—is certain.
  • Rahab’s Scarlet Cord (16:25-20:11): The word for hope, tiqvah, literally means a “cord.” Rahab’s physical scarlet thread saved her life, serving as a powerful, miniature gospel picture of the blood of Jesus.

The Conclusion:

Every thread in the Bible leads to Jesus, who became the scarlet cord by binding himself to human history. For anyone in a season of waiting, the video offers three final encouragements:

1. Waiting is the work: You are not sitting idle; you are being woven into God’s strength.
2. Hope is an anchor: It is a cord tied to God’s unchanging character, not your feelings.
3. You are not alone: Jesus is at the other end of the cord, interceding for you, ensuring you will not snap under pressure.
